The Gladstone Region branch of the Queensland Retired Police Association met at Calliope Bowls Club on Wednesday, December 13 for their end of year gathering.

It has been 12 months since serving police officers Rachel McCrow and Matthew Arnold were murdered and Queensland Police Chaplain, Leighton Johannesen spoke at the event presenting a valediction of Rachel’s brave, final words.

Rachel was born in the Mater Private Hospital in Rockhampton and spent some of her early childhood in Gladstone.

The Branch also made a donation to Gladstone Region GIVIT bush fire appeal for the recent Baffle Creek-Deepwater fire disaster.
