Seniors Happy Hour at Gladstone Aquatic Centre

Seniors (60+) get entry to the pool for free for an hour between 7.45am and 8.45am every weekday morning for fun and fitness! Many seniors come in and have created a happy, active, social environment that ranges from swimming laps to walking and having a chat.

When: 7.45 to 8.45am, weekdays

Where: Gladstone Aquatic Centre, Tank Street

Cost: Free

Gladstone Municipal Band

Are you a brass or percussion player? If so, the Gladstone Municipal Band has resumed rehearsals on Mondays at 1 Francis Ward Drive.

There are have vacancies on all instruments currently.

All players are welcome. For younger students it is recommended that they are partway through their blue book.

Friends of Bindaree Garage Sale

Community volunteers raising money by selling second hand clothes, furniture and more for our residents of Bindaree Lodge.

Sunday 21 January

CQ Detectorists Inc. Viking Beach Day

There will be a “Sand Pit” hunt with sieves for the younger children, keys that need to be found to unlock one of eight sea chests of Viking treasure! Prizes are awarded to the best-dressed Viking of the day. This is a family-oriented day with a lot of prizes to be won.

Friday 26 January

Australia Day Fun Run

Gladstone Road Runners are holding a Dash for Cash.

Register on the day from 6.15am. $10 entry, 2km event and $15 entry for 5km event. Sorry, no family prices.

There will be cash prizes and random giveaways.

Time: 7am start

Community Breakfast and Get Together

Just like the old days – catch up with friends – have a game of barefoot bowls – something for the kids – listen to some music – eat, drink and be merry.

Australia Day Family Fun Day

Celebrate contemporary Australia, acknowledge our history and honour the diverse culture in our region at the 2024 Australia Day Family Fun Day. Join us for a morning by the water with plenty of fun for the whole family. Sit back and relax while enjoying the talents of the local musicians or get involved in the free activities and games. Free sausage sizzle for the first 1000 people, with additional food vendors onsite.

2024 Australia Day Celebrations – Banana Shire

Banana Shire is gearing up for an unforgettable Australia Day celebration, being held at the Biloela Showgrounds on Friday 26 January, 2024.

The festivities kick off bright and early at 7am with a charming Poet’s Breakfast, setting the stage for a day filled with community spirit and celebration. The highlight of the morning is the Official Australia Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony starting at 9am, recognising outstanding contributions to the community.

Following the ceremony until 2pm, the Biloela Showgrounds will transform into a hub of excitement with a Family Fun Day. Expect food stalls, live music and performances, and a variety of activities to keep the kids entertained. The highly anticipated Lolly Drop is sure to add an extra element of sweetness to the day.

This Australia Day celebration marks just the beginning of Biloela’s Centenary celebrations, promising a year of memorable events and milestones.

Save the date for the Australia Day weekend rodeo at the Calliope Rodeo Grounds. Purchase tickets at the gate only.

Feel the rhythm and “rock on“ at the Agnes Blues, Roots and Rock Festival. A weekend of music, vibes, delicious food and vibrant markets in the heart of Agnes Water.
