A Bonza breakaway

It’s a bird! It’s a blimp! It’s… Bonza!

I’m painting this week’s article purple in celebration of my recent experience travelling on Bonza.

I was so impressed by the (more than fair) fare prices, the legendary service and the casual-over-corporate atmosphere, and the gorgeous shade of purple is a very pretty bonus. Bonza lives up to its name and it is beautiful to see the majestic machinery decorate the tarmac.

My family and I were recently among the many excitable passengers skipping, hopping and jumping onboard Bonza for a flight to Townsville for our Easter break. Mum and I even adorned purple shirts to celebrate boarding the newest addition to our skies and runway! Yep, we were that stoked about the Bonza experience and no, we were certainly not disappointed.

Bonza is so much more than its affordable prices and the pretty purple, though.

The heart of its mission is to reconnect more regional communities while still embarking on the main domestic flights. It allows more parents to take their children away for holidays, making memories without breaking the bank, and brings relief and opportunity to people who have had to find other ways to travel during tough times.

The past few years have been stressful and unforgiving for so many people. The cost of living alone has weighed heavily enough, so adding sky-high travel prices has brought many dream holidays to a halt.

I adore the purpose behind the pretty purple and with soaring support, I pray it continues to grace our skies and connect communities.

On top of our Bonza experience, we were so stoked about travelling to Townsville, somewhere we have never been before as a family. It was brilliant to board a new plane, embark on a family adventure and top up our memory banks with new adventures.

On Good Friday night, we went to the amazing Queensland Country Bank Stadium to see the Dolphins take on the Cowboys. It was quite the showdown and while the Cowboys missed out on a win against the newcomers, it was amazing to see them in action in their home arena.

The sea of blue supporters brought along so much energy and rode the highs and lows with their home team until the very last two minutes when there was no coming back. It was a brilliant atmosphere with well-behaved crowds simply enjoying a night at the footy, albeit a few stink-eyes to any Dolphins fans donning the bright red jersey. All in the name of healthy rivalry, of course.

Our Townsville adventures were magical and we are already so eager to return to explore more of what it has to offer.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter break and got to enjoy family time and moments to wind down after a busy start to the year.

Best wishes and big bunny hugs!
